Tyler Shepple enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Wilkes baseball program.

In his first season at Wilkes directing the pitching staff, Shepple helped lower a team ERA from 7.83 in 2012 to 6.53 in 2013 while lowering opponent batting average from .350 in 2012 to .313 last season.

Shepple comes to Wilkes as a current pitching instructor for the Wilmar Stingers of the Northwoods League. Since 2009, he has coached multiple pitchers to the professional level. He has been the head pitching instructor since 2009 for Lighting Baseball, Colorado’s largest fall baseball program consisting of over 90 participants.

Shepple is the owner of Stingers Camps during the summer and operates weekly camps overseeing 120 participants while managing promotions and advertisements on their website. Prior to taking over those responsibilities, Shepple served as owner and operator at Strike Zone Ballyards from 2004-2010. In 2004, he helped launch a training facility in Seattle that included seven hitting cages and a fielding area. In Denver of 2008, they opened a new training facility composed of three hitting cages, a workout area, and a shoulder rehabilitation station. During the offseason, Shepple oversaw more than 200 students while managing camps that included Major League Baseball players.

During the 2007-08 season, Shepple served as head coach at Brighton High School. He led the team to a league title advancing to the playoffs with a 14-5 record and experienced an 800% increase in fundraising from the previous year.

Before entering the coaching ranks, Shepple attended the University of Washington and was a member of the Washington Student Athlete Advisory Committee serving as Vice President during his junior year. That year he was an honorable mention Academic All-Pac 10 selection and was later drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers.
