Wilkes University Athletics

2012: Had an oustanding career in a Wilkes uniform, is ranked in several categories all-time at the school...Started all 39 games in the Wilkes lineup...Ruch, a first team All-Freedom performer for the Colonels at first base, became the school's all-time hits leader earlier this season and recently eclipsed the 200-hit plateau for his career...This season Ruch is batting .361 with 11 doubles, three triples, and seven home runs while driving in a team-best 38 runs...Along with holding the school's hit mark, Ruch ranks in the top three in four other offensive categories including third in runs scored (140), doubles (40), and home runs (26) while standing second in RBI's (148)...Posted at least 2 RBI's per game in 11 games during the season...Matt had his best performance on the year against PSU-Wilkes-Barre (04/13/12) as he went 3-for-4 on the day with a season high five RBI's, two homeruns, two walks, and three runs scored He has also been named to the MAC All-Academic team three straight years.

2011: Was named first team All-Freedom Conference at first base after starting 37 games and batting .333 with 34 RBI...Led the Colonels and was near the top of the conference with 13 doubles, adding two triples and four homers to slug .548 on the year...Had 10 multi-hit games and nine multi-RBI games...Had the team's longest individual hitting streak of 13 games, and finished the season on a seperate streak of 10 games...Also finished with a team-high .990 fielding percentage...In match up with Johnson & Wales hit a double and had four RBI... Had two RBI and a hit against Alleghency College... In double header with Penn State Berks went 4-7 with a double while scoring four runs and knocking in three RBI... Notched a hit and scored two runs against Immaculata... Picked up two hits and an RBI to contribute to 5-4 victory in game two of contest with Eastern...Recorded a double while scoring a run in 9-3 victory over Kings... In 12 innings of play with Kings recorded three hits including a double in four at-bats... Went 4-5 with two runs, two RBI, and a homer against DeSales...tallied three hits including one triple and scored four runs in double header with FDU...had two hits in series versus Misericordia…drove in one run against PSU-Hazleton…went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in first game against Delaware Valley...smashed a three-run homerun versus Baptist Bible…cracked a three-run homerun in final game of series against Delaware Valley…picked up a double against Scranton.

2010: Started 33 games for the Colonels...Had 43 hits and 32 RBI's...Had a batting average of .374...Totaled 8 home runs on the year.

2009: Started 40 games for the Colonels...Had 64 hits and 44 RBI's...Had a batting average of .390...Also totaled 7 home runs on the year.
