Jill Matthews Lada enters her fourth season in 2015 as the men’s and women’s assistant cross country coach at Wilkes University.
Jill graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Juris Doctorate in 2005, and from Iona College with a B.A. in English in 2002. She is also currently employed as an Assistant District Attorney in the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office as a member of the Vice Unit.
At Iona College, Jill was a four year scholarship outfielder for the N.C.A.A. Division I softball team. She earned All-Academic honors in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference from 1998-2002. At Hanover Area High School, she was a four year member of the softball and cross country teams, earning M.V.P. honors for both in her senior year and competing with the cross country team in the P.I.A.A. state championship in 1997. She currently competes as a top local female runner in the Wilkes-Barre area, posting three first place victories in 2011.
Jill assists Coach Wadas with the implementation of training programs, provide support and race strategy to the student-athletes at races, and aid in completing pre-race preparations and arrangements.
