Amy is in her first year as a graduate assistant at Wilkes, and is a 2011 graduate of James Madison University where she majored in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies concentrating in math and science and minored in Middle School Education. She was a four-year member of the field hockey team as a defender.
During her career at James Madison, she was a back to back Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Champion and a two-time Division I NCAA tournament participant. During her senior campaign, Amy led the CAA in goals (19) and points (47) and was ranked 7th and 8th in the country for goals per game and points per game, respectively. After her senior year, Amy was named to the 1st team All-CAA, 1st team VaSID All-State, 1st team NFHCA South All-Region, and 2nd team NFHCA All-American. She also participated in the NFHCA Senior All-Star game. Amy finished her career with 24 goals and 13 assists.
Amy also was recognized for her work in the classroom at JMU. She earned Dean’s/President’s honors each year, CAA Commissioners Award, JMU Athletic Director Scholar Athlete Award and was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Amy grew up locally and attended Crestwood High School where she won back to back PIAA State Championships. As a high school senior, Amy was named to the 1st team All-State, 1st team Mideast All-Region, 1st team All-American, and an Academic All-American. Amy was also a member of the U-21 National Team as a senior and played against international competition during the CanAm games in 2006 and 2007.
For the past four years, Amy has been training with the Pennsylvania High Performance training squad and has been selected to represent Pennsylvania at the Women’s National Championship the past two summers where her team finished 2nd and 4th.
Amy is the daughter of William and Ann Marie Daniel and has an older sister Kim.
