Eileen Sharp joins as an assistant coach at Wilkes having worked for the University as the Coordinator for Health Sciences Pre-Professional Programs since 1997.
Sharp boasts over 19 years of coaching experience starting with her time at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School where she served as a physical education instructor while coaching field hockey, basketball, softball, and gymnastics. She later served as a graduate assistant at the University of New Hampshire where she assisted with the field hockey program while earning her Master of Science in Physical Education.
After two years as an assistant coach at Carleton College in Minnesota, Sharp spent one year at Wilkes as an assistant coach while teaching physical education before taking a similar position at Dickinson College.
In her second stint at Wilkes working as Health Sciences coordinator, Sharp oversees pre-professional programs in dentistry, allopathic and osteopathic medicine medical technology, occupational therapy, optometry, physical therapy, and veterinary medicine.
Sharp has served on the NCAA and AIAW National Field Hockey Advisory Committee as well as the AIAW Field Hockey All-American Selection Committee. She has also umpired the sport since 1970 including the high school, college, and club levels. In 2001, Sharp was chosen as one of the PIAA state finals umpires.
Sharp earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from New Hampshire.
