Katherine Bowie

Katherine Bowie was named the head coach of the Wilkes University field hockey team on February 17, 2020, becoming the ninth head coach in the program's history.

Bowie spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach for Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. During her time there the Bobcats’ Division III program went 25-22 overall and 13-17 in the NESCAC earning two trips to the NESCAC Quarterfinals. While at Bates, Bowie held positions as the Camp Director of Revolution Field Hockey, League Founder and Director of Bates College’s Adult Field Hockey League, and Coaching and Curriculum Director as well as a Head Coach at Coastal Field Hockey in Portland and Auburn, Maine.

Prior to her time at Bates, Bowie was a Graduate Assistant at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa. from July 2016 to August 2017 and also served as a club coach for the Lehigh Valley Sparx in Bethlehem, Pa. Bowie served as the field hockey coach at St. Margaret’s School in Tappahannock, Va. from August 2015 to June 2016.

Bowie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Siena College in 2015, where she was a four-year member for the Saints Division I field hockey team. Bowie played in all 65 games during her career with 53 starts and was named to the NEC Academic Honor Roll in 2012, the MAAC All-Academic Team in 2013 and 2014, and the NFHCA National Academic Squad in 2013 and 2014.

Currently Bowie is finishing her Master’s in Catholic School Leadership at St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine, expected April 2020. She has been a USA Field Hockey coach member and a National Field Hockey Coaches Association member since August 2017.
