Lunda Dickson returns to Wilkes as an assistant coach to the Lady Colonels field hockey team in 2016. This will mark her sixth season on the Wilkes sidelines, after previously serving as the assistant coach from 2007-2009 where she coached along side of head coach Sara Myers.
Dickson is responsible for coordinating all teams’ offensive strategies against opponents, creating/developing offensive corners, and will assist with recruiting efforts.
Her field hockey experience comes from many highlights and awards as a player. Dickson ranks fifth in both Misericordia’s all-time scoring points history and all-time goals scored, third in all-time assists, and second in games started. Dickson was named PAC Rookie of the Year as a freshman at Misericordia, as well as PAC honorable mention as a sophomore and junior, and was also named PAC Second Team and Captain as a senior.
Dickson is currently the Director of Coaching and Administration for KaPow Hockey Klub, where she develops hockey curriculum for U6-U12 club members, is in charge of fundraising, and does administrative work for the club. The impressive experience continues with KaPow where Dickson is the Head Coach for U14, U16, and U19 teams. She has guided the 2012 U16 team to a Gold Medal at the USA National Indoor Tourtament and has led the recent 2013 U12 Jr. Disney team to a USA Silver medal.
Other previous coaching positions include volunteer field hockey assistant for Kings College in 2011, head coach of the USA Futures Program from 2007-2013, and was recently the head coach of Wyoming Area School Disctrict from 2012-2014 where she won a Keystone Gold Medal.
Dickson graduated from Misericordia University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
