Joe Cefalo enters his third season on the Wilkes sidelines working extensively with the Colonel linebackers.

Cefalo comes to Wilkes after a successful four-year playing career at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) power West Chester University where he holds the school record for most games started.

Cefalo was a four-time PSAC champion during his four-year stint while being named an All-Scholastic Collegiate Athlete in 2006 and 2007. Cefalo and his fellow senior class graduated as the winningest senior class in West Chester University football history.

Following his playing stint at the University, Cefalo served as the Defensive Assistant Linebacker coach implementing and training players for speed, power, lifting, and plyo-meteric regiments. He also led the linebacker group in fundamental and individual drills during practice sessions while serving as the assistant to the Defensive Coordinator during the Purple and Gold spring football game. While at West Chester, he assisted the strength and conditioning coach in the weight room training for the linebacker group.

He recently served as the varsity defensive coordinator at nearby Lake Lehman High School in the fall of 2010 and 2011.
