Matt DiBernardo is entering his eighth year as assistant head football coach at Wilkes University in 2014, as it is his third tenure at the school. He was the running backs coach for the Colonels in the 1994 season, assisting Wilkes to a 9-2 record with an ECAC playoff victory over Stony Brook. As the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2010, DiBernardo oversaw the transition to the spread, as the Colonels showed promise by scoring at least 28 points five times, including 38 each against Waynesburg and Albright and another 35 in a comeback win over Lebanon Valley. DiBernardo coached second team All-Middle Atlantic Conference performers in wide receiver Jordan D'Emilio and tight end Anthony Dorunda, as the two combined for 79 catches for 777 yards and five touchdowns. D'Emilio also climbed into the program's top 10 for career receptions, finishing his career with 134 catches, sixth all-time. He also wrapped up the 2010 season by catching a pass in 28 straight games, a streak dating back to his sophomore season. In 2007 DiBernardo was the quarterbacks coach for Wilkes, and in 2008 he coached the offensive line. DiBernardo has served as the offensive line/special teams coordinator for the Colonels the past two seasons. DiBernardo was the head coach at Wyoming Seminary for seven years, and has coached at C.W. Post College, Hobart College, and Delaware Valley College. DiBernardo currently resides in Kingston, Pa. with his wife Lindsay, and has two children, Jessica and Rocky. His daughter Jessica will be a senior at Wilkes in 2014.
