Tom Elder joined the Colonels football staff in the Spring of 2018 and serves as the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach..
Elder came to Wilkes after serving two seasons in the same position at Endicott College, where he assisted the head coach and defensive coordinator with all aspects of game day planning and served as a focal point in the program's recruiting efforts while coaching four All-Conference selections. Elder also organized the team's summer fundraising efforts and orchestrated all social media efforts, while also serving as the Director of Intramurals at Endicott.
Prior to his time at Endicott, Elder served as a defensive assistant at Hobart College, where he helped lead the Statesmen to the 2014 Liberty League Championship while also serving as an admissions representative.
Elder graduated from Hobart in 2013 with a degree in Political Science, where he was a four-year letter-winner at the inside linebacker position, leading the team to three Liberty League Championships and an NCAA Quarterfinals appearance.
