Zachary Sobota

Entering his second year on the Wilkes staff is assistant coach Zach Sobota who will mentor the running backs.

A native of Pompton Plains, NJ, Sobota comes to Wilkes after one season as an assistant coach at rival King’s College serving as the running backs coach with the Monarchs. Prior to King’s, Sobota completed his Master of Science degree in Sports Management from East Stroudsburg University where he was a graduate assistant coach on the offensive line. Sobota played collegiately at Wilkes from 2006 through 2009 where he was a guard and center. He was part of a Colonel team that won the 2006 MAC championship and reached the Division III national playoffs.

As a graduate assistant coach at ESU, Sobota worked with the offensive line, tight ends, and running backs for one of the top offensive programs in the nation. In 2011, ESU ranked fifth nationally in Division II in passing yards at 323.2 yards per-game, as well as standing 27th in total offense with 430.6 yards each contest.
