Bo Waggoner begins his second season on the Wilkes men's basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season. He began his duties in June 2022 which also includes serving as the director of intramurals.

He came to Wilkes after serving as a graduate assistant for the Penn State men’s basketball program in 2020-21 and 2021-22. During his time in the role on the Nittany Lions staff Waggoner planned and executed individual workouts for players, assisted the coaching staff with special team’s opponent scout, collected film and compiled specific clips to present to coaches to reference for player scouting, practice, or player development purposes, aided with the timely communication between the coaching staff and players, and facilitated preparation for daily practices, including the delegation of tasks to managers.

Prior to his time on the staff as a graduate assistant, Waggoner served as a manager for Penn State for four seasons where he prepared equipment for practices, tracked practice statistics, communicated scheduling with players, coaches, and site personnel, and filmed games.

During his time at Penn State he served as the treasurer for the Coaches vs. Cancer Club and served as the Penn State Women’s Club Basketball Coach from August 2017 through May 2020. He also volunteered at the Smeal Corporate Citizen Conference on Penn State’s campus from February 2017 through May 2020. Waggoner also worked for the Hoop Group in Reading, Pa. during the summer of 2018 as a recruiting coordinator and team camp intern.

Waggoner graduated from Penn State University with a Master of Education in May 2022. He received his Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Economics from Penn State in May of 2020.
