Race Bennett returns to the Wilkes University men’s ice hockey staff in 2024-25 for his first year as an assistant coach.
In 2024-25, Bennett helped coach the Colonels to the No.1 seed in the inaugural MAC Championship Tournament, reaching the finals.
Bennett joins the Colonels after time with The Albany Academies in Albany, N.Y. as an Assistant Boys Prep Hockey Coach, a position he started in 2023.
Bennett was also a Head Instructor for Paul Vincent Hockey at the professional, collegiate, and youth levels since 2017, and is the Owner of Boone Bennet Hockey in Albany which began in January of 2024.
The Ballston Lake, N.Y. native also spent time as an Athletic Performance Training Intern with the NHL’s Florida Panthers in 2017.
Bennett graduated from Colorado State University in August of 2023, and spent time as an undergraduate at Salem State University and a member of the Vikings’ ice hockey team from 2019-2021.
