Arthur Wang

Arthur Wang begins his first season as Wilkes men's and women's swimming and diving head coach after being named to the post on September 8, 2025.

Wang becomes the fourth head coach in the program’s history since its rebirth in 2014-15.
 
Wang brings over three decades of coaching experience to Wilkes. Most recently, Wang spent the past two seasons as the head coach of the men's and women's swim program at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Prior to McMurry, he spent two years as the head lead coach for Waterloo Swim Club in Austin, Texas and 16 years as the head swimming coach and Aquatics Director at SUNY Fredonia.
 
During his time at SUNY Fredonia, Wang led a program that had 13 individual Division III All-Americans and 22 conference champions. He also coached Fredonia's first-ever national champion.
 
A native of Ithaca, N.Y., Wang began his coaching career as an assistant at Ithaca College. He also made stops at Cornell University, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges as interim head coach and Washington University. At Washington in 2003, he was named the AFLAC National Assistant of the Year.
 
Wang graduated from Ithaca College in 1994 with a degree in exercise science and later completed the teacher certification program at SUNY Cortland in 1998. In addition to his coaching skills, he is a lifeguard training instructor and is certified in Coaching Safely, CPR/First Aid and AED. He is also fluent in the German language and semi-fluent in Chinese and French.
