Alex Czopek

Alex Czopek enters his 14th season as an assistant coach with the Wilkes University women's volleyball team in 2025 after beginning in 2012. He is also in ninth season as an assistant coach on the Wilkes men's volleyball team in 2025 as he was a part of the start of the men's program at Wilkes in 2017.

During his time, the women’s team saw three conference postseason appearances. First in 2012 capturing the No. 3 seed, marking the first time since 2009 that the women’s team earned a postseason berth. The second time came in 2013 when the women earned the No. 2 seed and a home match in the semifinals of the then Freedom Conference. Wilkes also made an appearance in the ECAC Southeast Tournament finishing fourth at the postseason event that season. In 2014, the women earned the No. 4 seed in the Freedom Tournament.

In addition to the Wilkes University programs, Alex was involved with Northeast Alliance Volleyball Club. Initially he stated as a player for the club in 2009, then took over a coaching role in 2011 once he graduated high school and while attending college at Pennsylvania State University.

Czopek played for Wyoming Valley West High School between 2006 and 2010. During this time the team earned three conference championships and moved onto regional postseason play. After graduation he served as one of the assistant coaches in the program for both the boys and girls teams until moving into the Wilkes role.
