Shay '24 begins his first season as the head coach of Wilkes Men's and Women's Volleyball in 2026-27, becoming the eleventh head coach in women's program history and second on the men's side after being named to the position on May 19th, 2026.
Before being promoted to head coach, Shay spent two years as an assistant coach at Wilkes after a prolific playing career in the navy and gold. During that time, Shay was the head coach at Endless Momentum VBC in Kingston and an assistant coach at Crestwood High School in Mountain Top.
A four-year captain on the Wilkes men's volleyball team, Shay holds the program records in single season and career assists (2,442), as well as assists per set (7.68). Across 95 total matches played, Shay finished his career with 510 digs, 158 kills, 91 total blocks, and 268.5 total points.
Shay graduated from Wilkes in September of 2024 with a BS in Supply Chain Management.
