Eleni Wechsler begins her second season as the Graduate Assistant for Wilkes softball.
Wechsler comes to the Colonels after a standout career for the University of Rochester, helping them to three Liberty League Championship titles (2014, 2015 and 2016) and one Elite-Eight appearance in 2014.
She was named the ECAC Upstate and Liberty League Rookie of the Year, All-ECAC and NFCA All-Region Second Team, Liberty League First Team, UAA Second Team and Liberty League and NCAA Super Regional All-Tournament Team while being named Most Outstanding Player in NCAA Regionals as a freshman in 2014. As a sophomore she was named All-Liberty League and All-UAA Second Team, NFCA All-Northeast Third Team and to both the Liberty League and NCAA Regionals All-Tournament Team. She was named to the Liberty League First Team, Liberty League and NCAA Regionals All-Tournament Team as a junior and Liberty League First Team as a senior. She was a captain of the team for her junior and senior seasons. Wechsler ended her career as Rochester's all-time leader in career no-hitters (3), shutouts (22) and fielding assists (400).
Wechsler was named to the UAA and Liberty League All-Academic Team as a junior and the Liberty League All-Academic Team as a senior. She was also recognized as a University of Rochester Garnish Scholar Athlete, given each year to ten senior student-athletes who have achieved outstanding academic and athletic success throughout their careers.
Wechsler graduated from the University of Rochester in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
