Phil Stortz is in his seventh season as an assistant coach with the Lady Colonels softball team.
Stortz has made his mark as a coach, player and umpire on the softball field. He coached an adult softball team for more than thirty years, while also playing fast pitch softball. He is also certified as an umpire by the P.I.A.A., NCAA and the ASA and has umpired playoff games on all three levels. Included among his more memorable moments as an umpire was the opportunity to umpire a game that featured the United States Olympic Softball Team.
Stortz also has experience as a high school basketball coach. He spent 12 seasons coaching girl's and boy's basketball at three area schools, Crestwood, Nanticoke and Hanover Area.
