Macciocco, the father of head coach Tara Macciocco, begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Wilkes women's basketball team in 2021-22.
Macciocco totaled 660 girl's high school basketball victories as a head coach from 1980-2015.
He recorded 528 wins with Dunmore High School between 1980 and 2008, picking up 12 League Championships, seven District 2 Titles, one PIAA AA Runner-up finish, and seven Chic Feldman Tournament Titles. He coached three All-State players and sent 24 players onto play at the collegiate level.
Macciocco then moved to Scranton Prep High School where he picked up 132 more victories between 2009 and 2015. There he won three League Championships, one District 2 AAA Title, two Lynett Tournament Titles, and had two AAA Elite Eight appearances while coaching two All-State players and sending 10 more student-athletes to play at the college level.
He served as a Health and Physical Education Instructor for K-12 at Dunmore High School from 1972-2007.
Macciocco graduated from Keystone Jr. College in 1998 with his associates degree in General Studies. He then earned his bachelor's of science in Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University in 2000.
During his playing career he was Keystone College Varsity Basketball All-Region IX in 1968-70. He was the head coach of the Keystone Games in 1985-86. Macciocco served as a Future Stars Invitational Camp coach from 1984-94 and was a WBCA Invitational Camp coach in 1996. Also in 1996 he was named to the Chic Feldman Hall of Fame. In 2000 he became a WBCA member and attended the WBCA National Convention. He was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2005 and joined the Russell Athletic / WBCA Victory Club 500-600 wins in 2008. During the 2017-18 season he served as an assistant coach for the Marywood University men's basketball team.
