Dr. Sopcak-Joseph came to Wilkes in 2019 and is Assistant Professor of History. After spending 15 years in New England, she is happy to be back home in Pennsylvania. Dr. Sopcak-Joseph received a B.A. in History and English from Dickinson College and both a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in History from the University of Connecticut. She specializes in the histories of women, gender, and media in nineteenth-century America. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Pete.
