Kammie Towey begins her 13th season as the head women's lacrosse coach at Wilkes University in 2019. Towey has led the program to four MAC Freedom postseason berths including one trip to the championship game in 2014. She owns a 81-105 career mark at Wilkes in twelve seasons at the helm.

The Lady Colonels finished 12-5 overall in 2016 earning its third straight MAC Freedom postseason berth in the process. First-Team All-MAC Freedom selection Madeleine Brownsey also led the league in goals for the second consecutive year.

Wilkes finished the 2015 campaign with a 10-5 overall record topping several offensive school single season records averaging over 18 goals per-game. She also mentored the school's all-time leader in points, goals and assists in First Team All-Freedom selection Carley Smith.

In 2014 the Lady Colonels reached the Freedom Conference Tournament for a second consecutive season under Towey earning the No. 2 seed and the program's first home playoff contest. Following a victory in the semifinals, Wilkes earned its first-ever trip to the championship round. Five players were named to the All-Freedom Conference squads including the program's first First Team selection in Carley Smith.

Wilkes also made the Freedom Conference Tournament for the first time in school history in 2013 capturing four conference wins on way to the No. 3 seed in the semifinals. Five Lady Colonels were named to the All-Freedom Conference squads including four second team selections in Gabby Ford, Tori Kerr, Smith, and Jessica MacConchie. Jackie Harrison concluded her career as an Honorable Mention selection.

In each of these five season (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) the team has seen several individual and team records fall under Towey's watch. In 2014, Ford graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer with 294 points and 214 goals. Goalkeeper Cassie Cronin finished her career as the school's all-time saves leader (533) and minutes played (2479:50) in 2012, while Smith set the mark for single season draw controls per-game (5.76) and shot percentage (61.2). Smith also became the school's all-time assist leader in 2014 finishing her junior campaign with 88 career helpers. Smith then broke Ford's career marks in points and goals in 2015. Brownsey broke the school's all-time goals mark (270) during her senior season in 2016.

Towey earned her Bachelors of Arts degree in Sports Management from Pfeiffer University in 2004, where she was also a member of the women’s lacrosse squad. During her senior season she ranked first in Division II in save percentage and was fifth in goals against average. For her efforts she was named a first team All-American and was honored as the Division II Goalkeeper of the Year. Her play helped the squad post an overall record of 11-4 and achieve a #7 national ranking.

Towey broke on to the scene at Pfeiffer as a sophomore when she ranked eighth in the nation in goals against average and 11th in save percentage. During her junior campaign she was fifth in Division II in save percentage and was eighth in goals against average.
