Maegan Laymon

This bio is now a part of a historical archive, the individual was on the coaching staff from 2024 to 2025 and is no longer employed by Wilkes University. 

Laymon joins the Wilkes staff in August 2024 as the fifth head coach in the history of the program.

Prior to Wilkes, Laymon was the varsity lacrosse coach at the Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tenn., and led the program to two winning seasons in 2022 and 2023. She led the Lynx to multiple high-profile seasons, as the team placed third (2022) and second (2023) in Tennessee’s West 1 Region for the first time in school history. She also recorded the second highest goalscoring season in school history in 2022 and coached two all-region selections.

Laymon was an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Division II institution Alderson Broaddus University from October 2020 to June 2021. In that time, she coached selections to the First, Second, and Freshman all Mountain East Conference (MEC) Teams.

She also spent time as an assistant coach at Lourdes University and SUNY Polytechnic Institute. In 2017 while at SUNY Polytechnic, Laymon coached the North Eastern Athletic Conference (now United East Conference) All NEAC Offensive Player of the Year.

Laymon was a dual-sport Division III athlete during her time at Green Mountain College where she played women’s lacrosse and women’s soccer, graduating in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies. In April 2024, she graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a master’s degree in sports administration.
