Alison McDonald will be entering her second year as assistant coach with the Wilkes University women’s tennis program. McDonald is in graduate school at Wilkes University pursuing her PHD in Pharmacy.
McDonald was a four year starter for the Lady Colonel’s tennis team. She led the team to a 65-8 overall record, and served as captain for the past three years. McDonald led the Lady Colonels to three straight Freedom Conference Championships and berths in the NCAA National Playoffs. In her first year of coaching she helped lead the Lady Colonels to their fourth straight Freedom Conference Championship, as well as its first ever NCAA victory.
She was honored with many awards during her time on the squad. McDonald was a first-team all-conference recipient all four years. Also, she was named to the ITA All-American Academic team four straight times. Her biggest honor came when she was chosen as the MASCAC Scholar-Athlete for Women’s Tennis.
