Todd Kane begins his third season as head coach of the Colonels men's and women's tennis teams in the fall of 2023 and will lead the Colonels into the Landmark Conference.
During his first season in 2021-22, Kane coached the men's and women's side into the MAC Freedom Finals. Tea Amerise was named the MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and First Team All-MAC Freedom. Alexa Cieri and Cassidy Greenman were Second Team all-conference selections. Cole Gibson earned First Team All-MAC Freedom honors on the men's side. Dasha Yakhnis was named the MAC Women's Tennis Senior Scholar-Athlete in April of 2022.
In 2022-23 the women's team made the MAC Freedom Semifinals as the No. 3 seed with a 5-2 conference record. Tea Amerise was named First Team All-MAC Freedom and Cassidy Greenman was Second Team.
Kane is the current owner and program director of TK Tennis Academy, which serves as the Colonels indoor facility when needed. At TK Academy, Kane organizes and implements cyber school academy where he develops high level training programs for elite tennis players.
Prior to TK Academy, Kane was the Director of Racquet Sports at the Lehigh Country Club in Allentown, Pa. from 2015-2018. There he earned a Player/Coach National Paddle Championship as well as Player/Coach Philadelphia Paddle League Championship in 2018.
Kane has also coached privately in New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania from 2012-2015 where he organized practices, setup tournaments and traveled throughout the country with elite players.
He also served as the program director for TK International from 2001-2012 where he grew the programs from parts of New York and Connecticut. Kane got his start in coaching at the Bedford Golf and Tennis Club in Bedford, N.Y. where he served as the Head Tennis Pro.
Kane graduated from the University of Hartford in 1996 with a degree in Communications and Advertising. He started his college career at the University of Arizona where he was a standout player earning All-Conference honors as well as being named Player of the Year twice. He also spent time on the ATP Tour following graduation playing mainly Futures in Australia and America.
