Wilson is back for his 13th season as a member of the Wilkes coaching staff. He is a 1991 graduate of Moravian College with a bachelor's degree in History.

While at Moravian, Wilson was a four-year starter for the Greyhounds wrestling team and posted an overall record of 81-23 for the nationally-ranked squad. A co-captain on the 1987-88 team, Wilson finished third at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in both 1987 and 1989.

Wilson began his coaching career by guiding the Pee Wee and Bantam teams for the Grester Norristown Wrestling Club from 1998 through 2000. He then moved on to Lake-Lehman High School, where he served as a volunteer assistant coach for two seasons. From 2002-06, Wilson further honed his coaching skills as the junior high coach at Lake-Lehman. During his stint he led the Black Knights to a record of 62-22 and the 2005 Wyoming Valley Conference championship. His teams also claimed District 2 West Sectional titles in 2003, 2005 and 2006.
