John Devito joins the Wilkes wrestling staff as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season following a four-year career on the mat with the Colonels.
Devito went 61-53 overall during his career. He recorded a 30-14 freshman season in 2019-20, highlighted by earning Third Team All-MAC honors at 174-pounds at the 2020 MAC Championship. He also placed second at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational and sixth at the 2020 NCAA Southeast Regional. Devito went 1-1 during the pandemic shortened 2020-21 season and then was 16-14 during his junior season in 2021-22, placing second at the Blue Jay Classic. He went 14-24 as a senior in 2022-23 at 184-pounds, placing sixth at the Ned McGinley Invitational and Blue Jay Classic.
He is a native of Long Valley, N.J. and graduated from West Morris Central High School.
Devito is currently working on finishing his Engineering Management degree at Wilkes.
