Moustafa Almeky ’21 joins the staff for his first season in 2021-22 after a four-year career on the mat for Wilkes.
Almeky finished his career with a 53-47 overall record wrestling at the 197-pound weight class. He finished 21-12 during his sophomore campaign in 2018-19 placing second at the Gettysburg Invitational and fifth at the 2019 NCAA Southeast Regional.
Almeky bested that mark with a 25-13 record during his junior season in 2019-20 earning Third Team All-MAC at the 2020 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships. He also placed sixth at the Ned McGinley Invitational, eighth at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational and fifth at the 2020 NCAA Southeast Regional.
Almeky remained active off the mat while at Wilkes serving as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President in 2019-20. He graduated in May 2021 with a degree in Neuroscience/Pre-Med and is currently pursuing his Master’s and MD degree at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. Almeky is also pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies.
