Bauer is a native of Ringoes, N.J. and Hunterdon Central High School... Finished his freshman season in 2019-20 with a 19-14 record, placing sixth at the 2020 MAC Championships and fifth at the 2020 NCAA Southeast Regional at 133-pounds. Went 0-1 in the pandemic shortened 2020-21 season... Earned Second Team All-MAC honors as a junior in 2021-22 when he went 21-9 overall. He also placed second at the Wildcat Invitational and seventh at the NCAA Southeast Regional at 133-pounds... As a senior is 2022-23 he went 27-7 overall at 133 and 141 pounds, he was the champion at the Ned McGinley Invitational, third at the Blue Jay Classic, and sixth at the MAC Championships and NCAA Southeast Regional... As a graduate-student in 2023-24 he was 25-8 overall at 141-pounds, placing second at the Doug Parker Invitational and Blue Jay Classic, sixth at the Ned McGinley Invitational, and seventh at the NCAA Southeast Regional... Finished his career with a 92-39 overall record.
