Dr. Andrew P Miller is a Professor of Political Science and Coordinator of the International Relations Program at Wilkes. Dr. Miller received a B.A. in Political Science from Illinois College, an M.A. in Political Science from Illinois State University and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Purdue University. His teaching and research interests focus on economic development in Latin America, specifically the politics of the coffee industry and the economic development potential of tourism. He is the author of four books on development issues in Central America and his latest book, Sustainable Coffee in Costa: Solutions for People, Economic Development, and Biodiversity (co-authored with Dr. Jeff Startford) was published in 2025.
He lives in Laflin with his wife Christy, and enjoys traveling and watching sports. In addition to serving as the Faculty Team Mentor to the Wrestling Team, Dr. Miller is also Wilkes University’s Faculty Athletic Representative to the NCAA.
