Josh Evans enters his eighth season as an assistant coach for the Wilkes wrestling program in 2025-26.
Evans had an accomplished career for the Wilkes wrestling team where he finished his four-year career with a 70-26 overall record. He was a national qualifier as a freshman in 2015 and was named to the d3wrestle.com All-Freshman Team. Evans was the champion at the 2015 Will Abele Open and the 2016 Monarch Invitational. He also placed second at the 2018 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships as a senior and was fourth at the 2018 NCAA Southeast Regional.
In addition to his success on the mat, Evans was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division III At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He was also named to the 2018 Winter Academic All-MAC Team.
Evans was a two-time PIAA state qualifier while at Palmerton Area High School with a best finish of fifth his senior year. He was also his class valedictorian. He graduated in the spring of 2018 with his Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
