Ovaskainen is in her first year as a graduate assistant for lacrosse at Wilkes University after a stellar playing career at Centenary College.
A 2010 graduate of Centenary, Ovaskainen owns numerous career and season records for the Cyclones, including 65 career assists and 68 career caused turnovers, and has the top four spots for single season ground balls, with 106 coming in 2010.
As a senior, Ovaskainen set career-highs in goals (59) assists (31), points (90), shots (109) and groundballs (106) while matching personal bests in caused turnovers (21) and draw controls (48). She led the country in groundballs for the second time in her career and ranked 11th nationally in points per game, 25th in assists per game, 26th in points and 32nd in goals per game.
She was named first team All-CSAC in 2010 after earning honorable mention honors in 2009. She was also first team All-PAC and second team IWLCA All-Region in 2008 and second team All-Skyline Conference as a freshman in 2007.
Originally from Finland, she attended Vaskivuoren in Helsinki before going to Centenary.
