Erickson '22, '23 MBA returns to the Wilkes men's ice hockey staff as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 season after previously serving behind the bench during the 2023–24 season.
During his first season on the coaching staff in 2023–24, Wilkes finished with an 18–9–0 record and reached the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) semifinals. As a player, Erickson was a member of the team's inaugural season in 2018 and was named team captain for his graduate season. By the end of his career on the ice, he held the program records for total games played (117) and short handed goals (6). He helped lead his team to two Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championships in 2019-20 and 2021-22.
Erickson was named an All American Scholar by the American Hockey Coaches Association (ACHA) and appeared on the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) All-Academic Team in all four of his undergraduate seasons. He also made the Dean's List in every semester of his academic career.
As a senior, he was awarded the Theresa Jordan and Frank Mehm Prize for displaying moral courage, participating in extracurriculars and advancing the university on and off campus. That same year, he also won Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, Outstanding Graduate for the Jay S. Sidhu School of Business, the Professor Ted Engel Award for Excellence in Finance and the Academic Achievement Award for Finance.
Prior to joining the Colonels, Erickson spent time with the Madison Capitols of the United States Hockey League (USHL), the Coulee Region Chill and Topeka Roadrunners of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), the Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and the Northern Cyclones of the National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC).Â
The Eau Claire, Wis. native graduated from Wilkes in May 2023 with his Master of Business Administration after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Financial Investments and a minor in Business Analytics the year prior. He currently works in management consulting.
