DALLAS – The Wilkes University women's volleyball team grabbed their second-straight conference victory and ended Misericordia six-match win streak by grabbing a 3-1 (25-23, 25-14, 32-34, 25-22) decision on Wednesday night.
With the win, the Lady Colonels are now 7-11 on the season and 3-1 in Freedom Conference play, while the Cougars see their record move to 11-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) had a game-high 19 kills on the evening to go along with two service aces and 13 digs for Wilkes.
LeeAnn Searfoss (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) had 40 assists and 11 digs,
Julie Page (New Milford, Pa./Blue Ridge) had 13 kills and eight digs, while
Kaitlyn McGurk (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) had five kills, 14 digs, and a game-high three aces.
Misericordia was led by Michelle DiCicco's 16 kills and two aces. Amy Porambo had a team-high 19 digs to go with one ace, Shannon Kane had 11 digs, while Alexandra Goble contributed nine kills of her own in the match.
The Lady Colonels will return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Doylestown to take on conference foe Delaware Valley at 7 p.m.
