READING - The Wilkes University volleyball team defeated Albright 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-15) before losing to Muhlenburg 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon in the Albright College Homecoming Tri-Match. The Lady Colonels see their overall record move to 9-17 on the season.

 

In the first match against Albright, Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) had a team-high nine kills, while contributing six digs. Allison Kelleher (Sayre, Pa./Athens Area) lead the Lady Colonels with 12 digs in the match and LeeAnn Searfoss (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) had a team-high 27 assists. Kaitlyn McGurk (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) had four of Wilkes' seven service aces, while Katherine Harrington (LaFayette, N.Y./LaFayette Central) had eight kills and nine digs in the match.

 

With the loss, the Lions see their overall record slide to 5-22.

 

Against Muhlenburg, Searfoss was the team leader in both assists with 15 and digs with 10. She also contributed one service ace. Harrison had a team-high seven kills and lead Wilkes with five out of the team's six service aces.

 

With the win, the Mules' overall record moves to 15-8.

 

The Lady Colonels return to action on Tuesday when they host Scranton at 7:00 p.m.
