VOLLEYBALL DROPS FOUR MATCHES IN SCRANTON TOURNAMENT

Lady Colonels move to 3-7 on the season

Scranton - The Wilkes volleyball team dropped all four matches over the weekend in the Scranton Tournament to see their overall record fall to 3-7.
 
In Friday's first match, the Lady Colonels took on Muhlenburg College and fell 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21). Kaitlyn McGurk (Swarthmore, Pa./Ridley) had a team-high 10 kills and five service aces, while Allison Kelleher (Sayre, Pa./Athens Area) contributed 14 digs. LeeAnn Searfoss (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) led Wilkes with 34 assists. With the victory, the Mules are now 8-2 on the season.
 
In the second match, the Lady Colonels dropped three straight sets to Oneonta State (25-18, 25-23, 25-18), who saw their record rise to 5-4. Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) had 11 kills in the match to lead Wilkes, while Searfoss added 22 assists and McGurk posted a team-high six digs.
 
On Saturday, Wilkes lost to Ramapo College 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-19) and again to Muhlenburg 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-15, 25-17). Over the course of the two matches, Kelleher recorded 23 digs, while Harrison had 20 kills and Searfoss had a team-high 37 assists. With the victories, Ramapo's overall record moved to 4-5, while Muhlenburg moved to 9-4.
 
The Lady Colonels return to action on Monday when they travel to Williamsport to take on Lycoming at 7:00 p.m.
