GLENSIDE – Freshman goalkeeper Lindsey Davenport (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) recorded her third shutout of the season as Wilkes cruised past Arcadia, 5-0.

Five different players scored for the Lady Colonels with Alyssa Koncelik (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) scoring first just 22 minutes into the first period. It marks the second time in as many games where she has scored a goal. As a group, the Lady Colonels shot 25 times, 22 of which were on goal.

The score would remain 1-0 at the half, but Wilkes came out in the second half  scoring four times - their highest output of the season. “I think we played much better in the second half than the first,” head coach Sara Myers said. “The first half was frustrating because we didn't make the necessary adjustments.”

In the second half, Diana Wright (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) scored her first goal of the season, giving the Lady Colonels a 2-0 advantage. Just over four minutes later, Amanda Tilley (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) made it 3-0 after scoring on a penalty shot. Chelsea Minx and Britanny Sines rounded out the scoring for Wilkes, moving it to 5-0 this season.

“I really think our midfield played really well today,” Myers said. “They really controlled the ball in the middle of the field and gave our attackers a chance to score.”

The Lady Colonels will finally return home Thursday when they host Gwynedd Mercy at 4 p.m.
