Collegeville – The No. 13 Wilkes University wrestling team competed in the North-South Duals on Saturday, wrestling four separate matches which were held at Ursinus College.
The Colonels walked away with a 1-2-1 record on the day, moving their overall record to 7-2-1 for the season.
Wilkes' only victory came in a 37-14 decision over Gettysburg College, while they came away with an 18-18 tie against SUNY Oneonta. The two Colonel losses came by the hands of ranked opponents. Wilkes dropped a 28-9 decision to No. 12 Kings Point before falling to No. 5 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 34-7.
Shaun Farnham (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Charles W. Baker) improved his overall record this season to 16-1 by going a perfect 4-0 on the day at 125. Josh Pauling (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) was also impressive at 133 by posting a 3-0 record to push his overall record to 15-5. D.J. Brown wrestled twice on the afternoon for the Colonels and each time walked away victorious to move his record to 10-6 on the year.
The Colonels will return to action next Friday when they wrestle in the Bud Whitehill Duals starting at 9 am.
