Amanda Peters (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) scored two goals in the second half, lifting the Wilkes University field hockey team to a 3-1 win over DeSales to improve to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in Freedom Conference play.

Jenna DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) opened the scoring for the Lady Colonels, finding the back of the cage with an assist from Jen Keegan three minutes into the game. DiSabatino's score would be the only offensive action of the first half as they held that lead at the break.

Peters would make it 2-0 two minutes into the second half with an unassisted score before she padded the lead with her second goal with 26 minutes to go in the game. The Lady Colonels were one play away from pitching a shutout, but DeSales was able to get on the scoreboard with a goal with no time left on a penalty corner.

The Lady Colonels out-shot the Bulldogs 25-10 and had 15 shots on goal, while holding DeSales to five.

They will return to action Tuesday when they travel to Madison, N.J. to take on FDU-Florham at 7 p.m.
