The Wilkes University men's and women's tennis team are just one win away from earning back-to-back berths to the NCAA Tournament after both teams won their semifinal matchup in the Freedom Conference Championship.

The women advanced to the finals without ever stepping on the court as Alvernia was not able to compete due to unforeseen circumstances. The men on the other hand, took a 5-0 win over King's, winning all three doubles before winning two singles matches in straight-sets.

In doubles play, Wes McCollum (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and Jeremy Nolt (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) teamed to defeat Tim Carroll and Jon Ferrie 8-0 to give the Colonels a 1-0 advantage. Chris Cozzillio (Harrisburg, Pa./Trinity) and Kyle Ungvarsky (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) quickly made it 2-0 after their 8-4 win over Jon Hand and Povl Schmidt at the No. 1 spot. Evan Katz (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) and Jon Rohrbach (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) completed the sweep after they took down Blake Bonser and David Kaluzavich 8-6 at the No. 2 position.

In singles play, Ungvarsky remained undefeated, taking a 6-0, 6-1 win over Kaluzavich at the No. 4 spot giving the Colonels a 4-0 lead before Rohrbach clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Ferrie at the No. 6 position.

The Colonels will now take on No. 1 seed Manhattanville at 12:30 on the Ralston Field Tennis Courts, while the women will face No. 2 seed Misericordia at 2:30 at the Kirby Park courts.
