The Wilkes University women's field hockey team took on Marywood University Saturday, scoring three second period goals to defeat the Pacers 4-0 and improving to 6-0 on the season.
In the first half both teams put solid defensive performances, allowing no goals until the 30th minute. With five minutes left in the half,

Cassie DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) to break the drought and put the Lady Colonels up 1-0 going into the break.
In the second half Wilkes would combine excellent defense with a persistent offense, scoring three goals and allowing only one shot. In the 47th minute

Jenna DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) centered a pass to
Chelsea Minix (Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway) for her second goal of the season, sealing the victory for the Lady Colonels, 4-0.
In the game Wilkes fired 26 shots, nine of which were on goal, and held Marywood to only three shots, none of which were on goal. Colonel goalie

With the win Wilkes improves to 6-0 on the year, and will look remain unbeaten when they host Susquehanna Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Artillery Park. The game will begin at 4:00 pm.
