The Wilkes University field hockey team hosted Susquehanna on Tuesday, defeating the Crusaders by a score of 7-0, the most points scored by a Wilkes team in recent history. The Lady Colonels scored in the first two minutes of the contest and never looked back, improving to a perfect 7-0 on the season.

Wilkes first scored on a goal by Jenna DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) on a pass from sister, Cassie DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood). Cassie DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) added another goal seven minutes later, assisted by Brittany Sines (Afton, N.Y./Afton Central). Wilkes would add on one more goal before the break when Jennifer Keegan (Shohola, Pa./Delaware Valley) found Alyson Paulauskas (Shavertown, Pa./Lake-Lehman) for her second goal of the season. At the break Wilkes held a 3-0 lead, not allowing Susquehanna to get off a shot on goal.

In the second period Wilkes never lost control of the game. Keegan was the first to score in the 41st minute on a pass from Brittany Sines (Afton, N.Y./Afton Central). The goal was Keegan's 10th of the season. Jenna DiSabatino (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) added another score two minutes later on an Amanda Peters (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) pass. Wilkes added two more goals on shots from Chelsea Minix (Mickleton, NJ/Kingsway) and Amanda Tilley (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) to secure the victory, 7-0.

Wilkes rattled off 24 shots in the contest, while holding the Crusaders to only 10 shot attempts, five of which were saved by goalies Lindsey Davenport (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) and Caitlin Jordan (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall). Davenport is now 7-0 on the season in goal for the Lady Colonels.

Wilkes will travel to St. Davids, Pa. for their conference opener against Eastern. The game will begin at 12:00 p.m.
