PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Wilkes University volleyball team snapped a three-match losing skid by taking down Manhattanville 3-1 (25-12, 22-25, 25-19, 25-13) to improve to 1-1 in Freedom Conference play.

Marissa Harrison (Shavertown/Lake-Lehman) picked up her 10th double-double of the season with a match-high 14 kills and 10 digs. She has now collected at least 10 kills in all but one match this season. Not only was she the only person to pick up double digit kills, she was also efficient as she committed just three errors in 33 attacks.

As a team, the Lady Colonels had 37 kills to Manhattanville's 20 and also picked up 75 digs. Megan Parsi (Rhinebeck, NY/Rhinebeck), starting her first collegiate match, tallied a match-high 21 digs on the day while Allison Kelleher (Sayre, Pa./Athens Area) had 19.

Wilkes improved to 10-4 on the year and will participate in the Susquehanna Tournament Friday and Saturday before facing King's at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Lady Colonels will finally return home Oct. 6 when they host DeSales at 7 p.m. in the Marts Center.
