ST. DAVID'S – Wilkes University lost to fifth-ranked Eastern University in three sets in Freedom Conference volleyball action on Tuesday night. The loss dropped the Lady Colonels to 3-3 in the league and in a three-way tie with DeSales and Delaware Valley for the final playoff spot.

The Eagles (22-1, 6-0) topped Wilkes 25-6, 25-15 and 25-9 for the sweep. Kate McGurk (Swarthmore, Ridley) was the main distributor offensively, dishing out 15 assists while Erin Nothstein (Mertztown, Brandywine Heights) and Allie Kelleher (Sayre, Athens Area) each had eight digs defensively. Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Lake-Lehman) and Emily DeBuck (Pine Island, NY, Warwick Valley) each had four kills for Wilkes.

The Lady Colonels will look to get back on the winning track on Thursday as they host Baptist Bible College on Senior Night at the Marts Center. They'll then host rival King's and Penn State-Berks in a tri-match this Saturday.
