WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University lost to Misericordia University in four sets in the Lady Colonels final Freedom Conference volleyball match of the season. The loss drops Wilkes from conference playoff contention.

The Lady Colonels rebounded for a game two 25-23 win before dropping the final two games for the loss. Meaghan Williams (Hamlin, Western Wayne) led the Wilkes offensive attack with 11 kills on 20 total attacks, compiling a .450 hitting percentage, while Marissa Harrison (Shavertown, Lake-Lehman) added 10 kills.

Kate McGurk (Swarthmore, Ridley) notched a double-double with 11 assists and 10 digs, adding seven kills of her own. Williams led defensively with three total blocks while Casey Bohan (Harding, Wyoming Area) had two.

The Lady Colonels will finish up their season this Saturday as they host a tri-match with Penn State Harrisburg and Moravian College. The first match is set for 10:00 a.m.
