ALLENTOWN – Chris DeRojas (Dallas/Bishop O'Reilly) scored 18 points while Paul Huch (Tuckerton, NJ/Pinelands Regional) added 14 and Kendall HInze 13 as Wilkes University defeated Rosemont 76-47 in the consolation game of the 29th Annual Scotty Wood men's basketball tournament at Muhlenberg College in Allentown.

After getting down 5-0 after the game's first two possessions, the Colonels went on a 13-4 run to take a 13-7 advantage 5:17 into the game.

After trading baskets with Rosemont, the Colonels exploded for 15 straight points, keyed by a three-pointer and a jumper from DeRojas. Rosemont responded, outscoring the Colonels 9-7 over the next 4:45, but Wilkes still took a 39-22 lead into the half.

After a slow start in the second, Wilkes got three straight buckets from Hinze and another three from DeRojas, keying a 12-5 run. After trading points the next few possessions, the Colonels went on a 17-4 run, getting two foul shots from Brendon Sheldon to cap the scoring binge, before finishing off the 29 point win.

DeRojas hit 4-of-6 from three-point range while Bernard Edmonds (Exeter/Wyoming Area) added nine points and five rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.

The Colonels (2-1) travel to Annville next Tuesday to face Lebanon Valley.
