COLONELS NOTEBOOK
• The Colonels return to the mats on Saturday in their last competition before winter break at a quad match at Muhlenberg College in Allentown.
• The Colonels are coming off of a 1st place finish at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational last weekend as
Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) (149) took home Outstanding Wrestler honors.
• WU will face three schools on Saturday, going up against No. 18 York at 11:00 a.m., Delaware Valley at 1:00 p.m. and host Muhlenberg at 3:00 p.m.
• The Colonels moved up to No. 14 in the latest NWCA poll (12/8) after sitting at No. 21 in the previous poll.
•
Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) (149) and
Chris Smith (Wantage, NJ/High Point) (285) are also ranked, climbing in the rankings at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.
•
Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) (125) is one of six Colonels wrestling this weekend with at least 10 wins, posting an 11-2 record on the season.
Dave Oberrender (Freeland, PA/Hazleton) (197) sits at 11-3 while Dattolo is 10-0.
• Along with Dattolo and Smith, three individuals from competing schools are also ranked in the NWCA poll (as of 12/8): York's George Saliba (197 - 9th); Delaware Valley's Jesse Harrington (157 - 2nd) and Aaron Karns (197 - 8th).
