Colonels Notebook
• The Colonels are back in action after two weeks off, traveling to Grantham, PA to compete in the Messiah Petrofes Invitational.
• The Colonels went 3-1 on Nov. 20 at the Mount Union Duals in Ohio, defeating Mount St. Joseph (28-13), No. 19 Ohio Northern (20-18) and Baldwin Wallace (43-8); WU fell to No. 29 Mount Union (22-15).
• WU is among 13 schools who will compete, a list that includes, Bridgewater State, Gettysburg, Johns Hopkins, Lycoming, McDaniel, Messiah, Mount Union,
Muhlenberg, SUNY Oneonta, Springfield, Ursinus and Washington & Lee.
• In addition to No. 21 WU, No. 25 Springfield, No. 27 Messiah and No. 29 Mount Union are the four schools competing who are ranked in the latest NWCA poll.
•
Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) (125) leads WU in individual wins, entering this weekend with an 8-1 overall record. Five Colonels have at least 7 wins.
• Six individuals from competing schools are ranked in the NWCA poll (as of 11/17): Bridgewater's Zach Bates (174 - 9th); McDaniel's Brock Glotfelty (285 - 3rd); Mount Union's Bill Schindel (197 - 4th); Springfield's Joe Grippi (133 - 7th) and Ron Fusco (285 - 10th); and Ursinus' Nate Murren (184 - 6th).
