Box Score

MADISON, NJ – Bernard Edmonds (Exeter/Wyoming Area) scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Colonels but FDU-Florham had two players record double-doubles and scored 41 second half points as Wilkes University fell to the Devils 72-50 in Freedom Conference men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.

After falling behind 4-0 2:30 minutes into the first half, the Colonels responded with 12 straight points in a little over four minutes of action to take an eight-point lead. The run started with a pair of Paul Huch (Tuckerton, NJ/Pinelands Regional) free throws and included six points from Kendall Hinze (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land).

The Devils got back in the game, going on an 8-0 run and knotting the score at 12-apiece with less than 10 minutes until half. Wilkes responded with an Edmonds basket and a layup and pair of free throws from Chris DeRojas (Dallas/Bishop O'Reilly), to go on top 21-16 three minutes later. A free throw by Hinze a couple minutes later would get the Colonels back to a five-point lead, but FDU worked its way back in the final minutes of the half, taking a 31-30 lead with five seconds to go on a three-pointer by Koko Karajelian.

A jumper 13 seconds into the second half by Derek Hall gave FDU a 33-30 lead and started a 14-2 run that gave the Devils a 45-32 lead with less than 15 minutes left.

The Colonels were able to quickly respond with a three by Tyler Breznitsky (Freeland, PA/MMI Prep) to cut the deficit to 10, but FDU came right back with a 7-1 run and then and then later a 12-2 run to take a 64-42 advantage en route to the 22-point victory.

Will Green was one of the Devils with a double-double, leading all scorers with 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Hall was the other, scoring 11 points and adding 12 rebounds. Ricky Fetske added 11 boards while Karajelian chipped in 14 points off the bench.

Hinze scored 11 points for the Colonels, moving over to the forward position in order for Edmonds to start at center. Huch grabbed six rebounds and blocked four shots, the second time this season he's reached that mark. Matt Mullins (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) added eight points and four steals.

The Colonels (2-4, 0-2) are back in action on Tuesday night as they host Baptist Bible College at 7:00 p.m. at the Marts Center.
