Final Results
GRANTHAM –
Anthony Dattolo (Succasunna, NJ/Roxbury) (149) was named Outstanding Wrestler as No. 21 Wilkes University finished first out of 13 schools at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational in Grantham.
Among the 12 other schools competing, No. 25 Springfield, No. 27 Messiah and No. 29 Mount Union joined the Colonels as the other ranked teams.
Along with Dattolo, freshman
Matt Transue (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) was another champion, winning at 184 where sixth-ranked Nate Murren of Ursinus also competes.
Myzar Mendoza (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill), another freshman, took home second at 125 while
Kris Krawchuk (Slatington, PA/Northern Lehigh) also came in second at 157.
Ben Marich (Kempton, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) (third at 165) and
Ryan Wilson (Manasquan, NJ/Wall Township) (fourth at 141) round out the six Wilkes top-four finishers.
The Colonels, 6-2 in duals and winners of two invitationals, wrestle at the Muhlenberg Duals next Saturday in Allentown.
