WILKES-BARRE – Three players scored for the Lady Colonels as Wilkes University defeated Keystone College 3-1 in a non-conference field hockey game on Thursday night in a steady downpour at the Ralston Athletic Complex.

The Lady Colonels (3-1) got on the board first 18 minutes into the first half when Amanda Peters (Catasauqua, Catasauqua) found the back of the cage off a pass from Kaitlyn Bevans (Beaver Meadows, Hazleton). Wilkes would take a 2-0 lead 10 minutes later when Bevans assisted on another goal, this one to Olivia Dworak (Dupont, Wyoming Seminary).

Keystone got on the board with 35.8 seconds left in the half, as Lori-Ann Marino scored off a penalty corner to narrow the Wilkes lead to one.

Wilkes added its third goal less than four minutes into the second half when Peters found Marni Mancini (Mountain Top, Crestwood) for a goal. The Lady Colonels played tough defense throughout the rest of the half, keeping the Giants away from the cage to take the two-goal win.

Wilkes is back in action on Saturday as it plays host to Moravian College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. from the Ralston Athletic Complex.
